"I believe that liberation can and should start from home. It’s interesting, because there’s that saying: 'You can't come back if you never leave.' I think of the times where I’ve felt a push to leave a place—whether it be my childhood home or my current home—and how it always comes with a feeling of betrayal. I have people who I love, and while I’m really grateful that I have found a connection to liberation and freedom in the process of making home, there’s a pain in knowing that there are still so many folk living with housing and food insecurity."
